Today is the third anniversary of Adam's open heart surgery. I remember it so well. I remember kissing his little head as I handed him over. I remember watching him being carried down the hall until it was not possible to see him anymore. I remember waiting, and getting occasional calls and updates on the progression of the procedure. I remember seeing him after surgery and being thrilled that he was PINK instead of dusky.
He went through some very dark days right after his surgery.
I look at the healthy, smart, beautiful boy that he has become and I am filled with emotion and grattitude. We really dodged a bullet and I am always especially aware on this day. Current Mood: complacent

Sneakers- funny, laid-back, and goofy, you love to
make people laugh and have a good time. You
enjoy comfort and don't care to much about what
people think of you. You like to hang out with
your buddies and just have a good time. [please
vote! thank you! :)] What Kind of Shoe Are You? brought to you by Quizilla

|why doesn't God just take me now?
Oh wait, I know, because I am useless!!!
I have to find a job pretty fast. I am about to have a high schooler and feel like the worst mother ever. My teen comforts me. It should not be this way.
Reminds me of a line from a cult classic movie "Kingpin"

My weight is the same this week. My clothes are not as tight though. Strange but true. I think that there will be a downward change next week!

I need to vent and this is the best place to do it. Brad has not had transportation for about a month now. To make an extremely long story short I have made 4 or 5 trips up there since then to try to help the guy out. He called on Friday and wanted to see Adam since he missed his last visitation. I took the bab up there yesterday afternoon, but told him I wanted him back today. It is my weekend with the kids and his car problems are not my problems. He arranged for his brother and sister in law to bring Adam home tonight, and they did. Heres the kicker, Brad forgot to send his antibiotic home. His phone has been disconnected, so I had to go up there AGAIN. I went to Brad's place and his reaction was "shit, I know why you are here". He told me that the RX was at his brothers house. I drove over there and got it and came home. I is 35 miles one way up there!!! Not once, has he said thank you for all that I have done for him lately. In fact, he goes out of his way to point out my "faults". I have done my last good deed for him. From here on out, if he can't come get that baby that is just tuff. Adam had not seen his dad since Christmas, and he cried and cried when I left him on friday. I will not leave him there again. Oh yeah, he got laid off on Thursday. Current Mood: annoyed

Erin accidentally did not close the door when she left for school Wednesday. I will probably have an 800.00 gas bill this month. I am so excited about Sharon's wedding. We are going to look at patterns for bridedsmaids dresses tomorrow. That will be cool. My mom can sew anything. I have been talking to someone from eharmony. His name is Eric and he lives a little south of Macon, GA. We are planning to "meet in Person" next Saturday. I am not sure what we are going to do, but he is coming up here. I still have time to think of something. Does anyone want any baby hamsters? They will be ready to go to their new homes about the 2nd week of Feb.
By the way, as it turns out, we did have one male and one female hamster. We had 11 baby hamsters on New Years Eve. Anna, is there a shot the vet can give hamsters to make them sterile? My mom keeps telling me something like that, buy I have never heard of it. One baby hamster died, but the other TEN are alive and well. I think Ben wold like several of them!!!!!!!

Fly Lady's theme for next year is "Less is more in 2004". I had such a great Christmas. I got two gifts that I have wanted for quite some time, but never thought I would get. The kids got so much. We are really blessed.
Adam is sick. He has been running a high fever since yesterday. It is stying down with tylenol and advil being rotated every 4 hours. I called the doctor today and they said it sounds like the flu. I am doing all that can be done for him, but he is so pitiful. He is almost 1 1/2 years old and this is the first time he has been sick, though so I guess that is pretty good.

You are the ANGEL. You seem to be the pinnacle of
perfection, the model being. You spend much of
your time trying to avoid those hooligans and
hoodlums that run around the world, rampantly
looking for ways to get into trouble! (At
least, it looks like you do.) If you're not
doing that, you're keeping it all inside, for
fear of messing up. Come on, honey,
perfection's overrated. Who says you have to
don the halo all the time? Gold's not your
color anyway. So get out there and raise hell.
And have a good time.

This is a long but good story.
4 weeks ago tonight, Outside of Walmart, we ran across a family giving away free hamsters. Miranda is a HUGE animal lover, and she charmed me into letting her take one home. She asked for a girl hamster, and named it Wendi. On the day after THanksgiving, Erin left the cage in her room with the bedroom door open. The cat must have knocked the cage over, the water bottle slipped out, and Wendi was nowhere to be found. Many tears were shed. The next day, mom took a heartbroken Miranda to the petstore and got Wendi II. About 8 hours after Wendi II came into our home, Erin foind the original Wendi. So now we had 2 hamsters. Guess what? Wemdi II had 6 babies on Friday afternoon. 2 were dead by the time we found them, two more were soon to be dead and two seemed fine. We moved Wendi II and the babies to a separate cage yesterday, and by this afternoon both those babies were dead too. Wendi II had to be pregnant when we bought her because the gestation period for hamsters is 21 days and she had only been here for 13 days when the babies came. So now, we have 2 hamsters in the same cage. Please keep your fingers crossed that Wendi is really a girl too!

You represent... kindness.
You're a very gentle, kind, and caring individual.
You truely care about people and are generally
well-liked. Though sometimes you may be
perceived as weak, you truely have a strong
heart and a good desire to help others. What feeling do you represent? brought to you by Quizilla
|I like this song
I could have given you all of my heart,
but there's someone who's torn it apart
and he's taken just all that I have,
but if you want I'll try to love again
Baby, I'll try to love again, but I know
The first cut is the deepest
baby I know the first cut is the deepest
when it comes to being lucky he's cursed
when it comes to lovin me he's worst
This is very interesting because my first husband was a taurus!!
You should be dating a Taurus.
20 April - 20 May
This gentle creature is dependable, artistic, and
very calm and patient. Though Taurus has the
tendency to be self-indulgent, stubborn or
materialistic, this bull naturally enjoys a
roll in the hay! What Zodiac Sign Are You Attracted To? brought to you by Quizilla

You are Sanguine. Warm, outgoing, and friendly,
you are the life of the party. Your carefree
nature can make you unpredictable and restless,
however, and you tend to be disorganized,
easily distracted, and even undependable.
Passionate and hot-tempered, you have a lust
for life in all its forms. Your creativity
makes you a good starter but a poor finisher.
Sanguines should look at careers in sales,
acting, public speaking, and the medical
profession. Which of the Humours are you? brought to you by Quizilla
